Use Compression Garments for Lymphedema Properly

Many people are there who are suffering from lymphedema. This is one such kind of disease in which fluids, also known as lymphatic fluids get collected in different areas and parts of the body like that of arms, legs, joints, etc. So, there are many patients who are suffering from lymphedema. You can get the compression garment with materials like cotton, latex, wool, and also you get softer compression garments also, to protect you from getting hurt due to the pressure that is created by the garments. You can get the compression garment in a very stiff material also. If you have started to observe the signs of lymphedema, then one of the best things that you can do is to go to the doctor and get your condition check-up. Only after that, the doctor can suggest you the right treatment for the swelling.

Stages of Lymphedema – 

But in many cases, the doctor suggests the use of compression garments to suppress the lymphatic liquids from accumulating in various body parts. If your lymphedema is in stage two or three, then you will require therapy. But mostly, even with the therapy like a hot massage, still the doctors would suggest the use of elastic compression garments. You can also get compression garments with sleeves. Apart from that, before you take workouts it is better that you discuss with the doctors whether you can use the compression garments during a workout or not.

Compression Garments When Outdoors – 

Moreover, when you go out of the house whether you need a compression garment or not depends on the situation like the swelling, whether you have a big swelling or it has become small or it’s bearable etc. If you have a lot of swelling, then it is recommended that you use a compression garment when you are moving out of the house. These days even stylish compression garments have come out, so you can pick them up. Improper use of lymphedema compression garments can worsen the case. So, make sure you wear your compression garments properly.
