PILATES PRIVATE LESSONS HAMMERSMITH

Even if you’ve only used the word “Pilates” quite rarely. It’s been around for almost a century now. But now in this modern age, the phenomenon of “pop culture” has been somewhat like that accepted by all fitness enthusiasts around the world thanks to its founder, Mr. Joseph Pilates. So in fact, a large number of people have set up Pilates Studio because of the demand that they have among the people. And it provides private lessons as well as group lessons held at your local gym/community center/village hall, etc., with all of these aspects selecting the right Pilates instructor can be a truly overwhelming activity. But to tell you the truth, it’s very easy.

Pilates basics:

If you’re new to the world of Pilates or beginners in this class, there are a few fundamentals you should know, by the way, don’t freak, it’s not rocket science.

Pilates does not pronounce “Pie-lates” its pronounced “Pi-lah-tees.” In reality, Pilates was founded by a pioneer known as Mr. Joseph Pilates, a German athlete and fitness genius who was a specialist not only in Pilates but also a qualified skier, diver, and boxer. From the late 1920s to the 1960s, he primarily trained athletes, ballet dancers, patients, and laypeople. All the first Pilates sessions were taught in private one to one class since he wasn’t a fan and didn’t feel that community classes would benefit as much as one to one session. Joseph Pilates was very innovative and applied the same thing to his workouts, as he designed special equipment for particular purposes and often even for a specific client so that it was completely adjustable to suit the needs of the client. But his original work was all on the floor, and in the meantime, it was called the “Mat Workout.” Pilates has been designed in such a way that its system retains a “method” of unique exercises to be conducted in a precise sequence for a particular purpose. The aim, quite fundamentally, was achieved to encourage spinal flexibility and core strength. So you’re going to have a strong center from which you’re going to switch easily. With this in mind, the founder of Pilates will still quote, “If your spine is stiff at 30,” you’re old. If it’s flexible at 60, you’re young.” Your exercises will always be intensive, but they will be done as a corrective exercise. This is often referred to as “Contrology” as it establishes the body’s uniformity, corrects incorrect postures, restores physical strength, and enhances the body, your mind, and your spirit.

So, keeping all of these in mind, you’re ready to start your classes, and here are some extra tips to help:

Often start with “classical” or “traditional” Pilates. This is the original work from which all the Pilates school borrows and adapts. Wherever you go, they start with the classic Pilates, representing the ethos of the program.

Always pay attention to the process of your intake. Are you doing this after a personal injury, illness, or purpose? As many people who are attending classes under the Hammersmith Pilates instructor are doing so due to old injuries or illnesses, or have been instructed by medical practitioners to take the Pilates classes as necessary. So the Hammersmith Pilates instructor will be very interested in the student’s medical background so that they can design sessions to serve them personally.

And most importantly, try private session’s first-hand, because we all know that group sessions are fine and can be a lot of fun, but if you go for private sessions, you’ll get one to one concentration session, which is going to be a huge benefit.

And finally, when you start your sessions, set aside your egos, have a beginner’s mind when you practice, no one’s a master on the first day, note that even the master was once a student. We all want to master things fast, but let the learning curve sink into you, let it shape you, and sculpt you, as no one walked the next day they were born. So always respect the process, and always be proud of yourself for trying out something different.
